NoShowSaver
vs. Calendly no-show fees

Calendly doesn't charge no-shows. We do — without breaking your booking flow.

An honest look at the standard Calendly workarounds — Zapier+Stripe deposits, after-the-fact invoices, policy checkboxes — and what an authorization hold actually changes.

Calendly is the best in the world at booking. It's not a payments product. The moment a client doesn't show up, you have an empty slot, no card on file, and no way to make yourself whole — unless you set something up before the booking happened.

The common workarounds each have a distinct cost. A Zapier-to-Stripe deposit charges every booking and refunds it on attendance — that's friction at the booking page and Stripe fees on every refund. An invoice after the fact relies on the no-show paying you back, which is the part most operators describe as the actual problem. A 'I confirm I've read the cancellation policy' checkbox is a text agreement, not an enforcement mechanism. NoShowSaver sits next to Calendly and fixes the one specific gap — a refundable hold that captures only on the Calendly no-show event.

Calendly + workaround vs. NoShowSaver

If your sessions are free intro calls or internal scheduling, you don't need this. Holds are for paid appointments where a no-show actually costs you money.

Common questions

Can't I just use Calendly's built-in cancellation policy?
Calendly's policy field is text — it tells the client what you charge, not how. Without a card on file, enforcement is manual: you send an invoice after the no-show and hope they pay. Recovery on after-the-fact invoices for missed appointments is the part most operators describe as the actual problem. Holds collect the card before the appointment so the charge is automatic.
Why not Zapier + Stripe Checkout to take a deposit at booking?
It works, but it's a deposit — money moves at booking, the client sees the charge on their statement, and you have to refund it on attendance. That friction reduces booking conversion and creates Stripe fees on every refund. An authorization hold doesn't move money; the temporary pending entry on the card disappears on attendance with zero processing cost.
Do I have to migrate off Calendly?
No. NoShowSaver lives next to Calendly. You keep your share-links, event types, and calendar integrations. We listen for Calendly's webhooks and act on the no-show event — Calendly doesn't change for the client at all.
What happens if a client disputes a no-show charge?
Every charge ships with a signed 'I was there' link the client can use without an account. If they file a Stripe dispute instead, we auto-bundle their submission, the Calendly attendance log, the four-touch SMS history, and a timestamped policy snapshot into Stripe's dispute response — uploaded inside the response window.
Is this overkill for free or internal scheduling?
Yes. If a no-show doesn't cost you real money, the simplest answer is to keep using Calendly's reminder emails and not bother with holds. We're built for paid appointments where one missed slot is a real revenue hit.
